The Celtic poem The Voyage of Bran was the inspiration for this fantasy work by Bert Appermont. The subject of this composition is Febal, who - together with his companions - travels to the "otherworld", also known as the Island of the Blessed, where he finds nothing but sun and prosperity. The sections, called Isle of Joy, Land of the Women and The Feast intermingle with Song of the Otherworld, which acts as a sort of leitmotif.
